Collaborations with the artist Natacha Clitandre

In 2023 and 2024, Cœur d'épinette collaborated with artist Natacha Clitandre for her projects Bio/diversity and Before Drawing a Square.

Bio/diversity:

Bio/diversity is a series of cultural mediation workshops created in response to the syndrome of shifting reference points. Wishing to take action at my own level to counter this phenomenon, whereby the recognition of the constant decline in biodiversity is lost from one generation to the next, I invited young people and seniors from the Maison d'Haïti to workshops encouraging the sharing of contextualized narratives and memories of nature. The ecological crisis is then measured individually and a collective discussion is initiated on the decline of biodiversity and its impact on the migratory paths of living things. Ways to reduce waste production are also discussed.

Before Drawing a Square:

"With Before Drawing a Square, Natacha Clitandre invites small groups to explore the area around "Carré Laval," a site where—through the abundant spontaneous vegetation growing there—evocations of the agricultural character of Île Jésus are perceptible. For the artist, this relatively small ecosystem symbolizes the different phases of Laval's urban development. Traces of its agricultural potential and the scars of its industrial period persist, while political ambitions to make the city attractive are projected there."
