Cœur d'épinette
Cœur d'épinette
The name is inspired by the verse "A cactus flower in a spruce heart" by poet Geneviève Desrosiers. It reminds us that possibilities often emerge from the most unexpected situations.

The project
Cœur d'épinette weaves together collective experiences promoting connection to urban nature through the arts, promenades and eco-conferences. Inspired by engaged pedagogy, forest schools and numerous artists and writers, the workshops and artworks encourage individuals and communities to find their own path and take action for a more just world where living together is met with enthusiasm and joy.

What motivates a person or a community to mobilize for a fairer world and an exciting way of living together?
Writer, art historian, horticulturist-arborist, urban forester, yogini and lecturer, I have taken multiple paths to shape my relationship with the world and find solutions to the complex issues we face.
These paths converge today in the heart of a clearing in which I invite you to experiment, create and connect with others by taking as your anchor the territory with its history, its stories and its natural elements.
This sense of connection is fundamental, healing, emancipatory, and consciousness-raising. When we cultivate it, we often harvest unexpected ideas, collective projects, and energizing resistance for true personal and social transformation. By fostering this connection to the land, to ourselves, and to others, our actions and thoughts strengthen our sense of community.

An intimate approach to a social practice
I see the Cœur d'épinette project as an action-research project that takes shape through creations, collaborations, and moments of sharing with people of all ages and backgrounds. It is an intimate approach deployed in a social practice that draws on the unique connections woven between communities and their environment.
The experiences
The network
Cœur d'épinette primarily offers its workshops and training to community organizations, private businesses, and public bodies. These collaborations allow the project to be part of a vibrant and diverse network and to offer workshops that are financially and physically accessible to a diverse range of participants.
