Writing with nature

My recent writings, both in creation and art history, focus on ecology, territory, restorative art, and/or the sense of community. Inspired by numerous women whose writings fall within the genre of nature writing (Nan Shepherd, Melissa Harrison, Rachel Carson), authors who analyze our colonial relationships with nature (Carolyn Finley, Jamaica Kinkaid, Olivia Laing), as well as artists and art historians interested in natural environments and landscapes (Ithell Colquhoun, Lucy Lippard, Rebecca Solnit), my writings, like my nature writing workshops, question our relationships with nature, expand them, and enrich them. Through my writing, I strive to cultivate what I call "wonder without blindness." For my reflections on art, I am interested in ecological arts and their potential to repair, transform, and question the world in light of environmental justice and climate issues.
